Angie Moreschi

Angie Moreschi joined Spotlight on America in January of 2023 as National Investigative Correspondent. She is a national award-winning investigative reporter, multimedia journalist and news anchor, with unique experience as a law firm communications director, investigator, consumer advocate, documentary producer, and website/social media manager. Her powerful reporting has changed laws, sent people to prison, and helped to restructure entire government agencies. Among her many awards are 15 Emmys, a National Headliner, Investigative Reporter & Editors Medal, Regional Edward R. Murrow award, Scripps Howard Finalist award, Casey Medal, and dozens of additional regional and local awards. She is motivated by a deep desire to uncover the truth and tell important stories that impact society and help people.

Most recently, Angie worked as investigative reporter and anchor at WPXI-TV, the NBC affiliate station in her hometown of Pittsburgh. Her reporting on the nursing home crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic won a prestigious Edward R. Murrow Investigative Reporting Award and the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Award for Outstanding Television Investigative Series. In addition, her tenacious reporting there led to a new law in 2022 that forced the Pennsylvania Turnpike to notify E-ZPass customers about hidden $10 penalty charges she uncovered. Lawmakers called it a “win for consumers” and a “win for government transparency.”

At WTHR in Indianapolis, her reporting on the death and abuse of children in foster care also led to a new law in Indiana requiring background checks for all foster parents. At WISN in Milwaukee, she was among the first in the country to uncover a priest sex abuse scandal, which led to the conviction of a priest who had been abusing children for decades. She was also among a select group of reporters chosen to cover the trial of serial killer Jeffery Dahmer.

One of the most distinctive aspects of her career came outside of television news. Angie served as Communications Director and Investigator for a whistleblower and consumer action law firm for more than a decade. At the James Hoyer Law Firm in Tampa, she worked side-by-side with former federal prosecutors and FBI agents and used the unique combination of her investigative and media skills to uncover important information for cases, produce powerful documentaries, and launch a consumer website. Her work at the firm helped to return millions of dollars to taxpayers and consumers. While working there, Angie also hosted and produced a weekly consumer segment called Consumer Wise on Bay News 9 in Tampa and Central Florida News 13 in Orlando, and hosted and produced stories for Smart Health, a magazine-style program on health issues which aired on PBS stations throughout Florida.

Most important of all, Angie is a dedicated and proud wife and mother of two amazing daughters, who are pursuing careers in the medical profession. She received her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
