LeBron James to be the Team USA flag bearer for Olympics opening ceremony

Olympics opening ceremony

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Basketball superstar and Ohio native LeBron James will represent Team USA as its flag bearer at the Olympics opening ceremony.

James, from Akron, is the first basketball player so honored.

Team USA made the announcement on its X account Monday morning.

James has been a part of two gold-medal-winning Olympic basketball teams.

The opening ceremony is set for Friday in Paris.
