CANYON, Texas (KVII) — Two weeks to the day after officially being named the new Vice President of Athletics, Doug Lipinski met the West Texas A&M University faithful on Wednesday.
Introduced by President Walter V. Wendler, Lipinski thanked those with whom he spent the last 22 years at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, one of the country's top Division 2 athletic programs.
Those 22 years saw him go from an athlete to Deputy Director of Athletics at GVSU. He looks to maintain and build on the athletes' success at WTAMU.
Lipinski is still moving from Michigan to Texas and officially begins his duties on Aug. 28.
