A Heat Advisory will be in effect starting at 11 AM CDT until 8 PM CDT this evening for Dallam-Sherman-Hansford-Ochiltree-Lipscomb-Hartley-Moore-Hutchinson-Roberts-Hemphill-Oldham-Potter-Armstrong Counties in the Texas panhandle and Texas-Beaver Counties in the Oklahoma panhandle.
EXTENDED DISCUSSION: It will be another hot day across the area. Temperatures will be in the upper 90s and triple digits with a breeze out of the Southwest. A Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 AM until 8 PM CDT for a good portion of the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. Keep in mind those heat safety tips like drink plenty of fluids, limit your time outdoors, and wear light and loose fitted clothing. There is a slight chance for a pop-up shower or storm favoring our northern counties today and tomorrow but the majority of us will be staying dry. A high-pressure system is dominating the region which typically brings clear skies and settled weather. The heat will continue the majority of this week in the upper 90s and triple digits. More slight chances of rain look like they will move in Thursday and Friday as of now. A cold front will move in some point this weekend and bring us closer to around normal for temperatures. The exact timing is still a bit uncertain, but we will keep an eye on it and fine tune things day by day. Stay cool and remain weather ready!
