Governor Greg Abbott announced Sunday Texas is deploying firefighters, fire engines, and more to assist in battling the wildfires ravaging parts of northern California.
Answering a request from CAL Fire, the Texas Division of Emergency Management and Texas A&M Forest Service is sending more than 100 firefighters, emergency management personnel, and more than 25 fire engines, command vehicles, and equipment.
In a statement, Gov. Abbott says "Texans understand the urgency of responding to wildfires, and our country is stronger when we come together in times of crisis."
The park fire, burning outside of the City of Chico, has covered over 350,000 acres of land and still spreading.
Evacuation orders are in place across four counties, and California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a State of Emergency.
As of Sunday morning, CAL Fire says the wildfire is only 12 percent contained.
