A pickup truck exploded after catching fire at the gas pump at the Cefco in Claude.

The Claude Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire at about 7:58 p.m. on Sunday.

A pickup truck and a gas pump were on fire at the Cefco.

The driver said he turned off his truck and went into the store. Meanwhile, the person parked at the next pump saw flames under the truck.

After the other vehicles were moved out of the way, the truck exploded.

The driver was "shaken but ok," according to Captain Alex Sharon with Claude VFD.

"It could have been a lot worse," Sharon said.

No one was injured in the incident.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
